The new collections include specimens of former (K. Ganiatsas, G. Lavrentiadis, G. Pavlidis, E. Zaharof, D. Babalonas, E. Drossos. V. Karagiannakidou et al.) and current members of the Laboratory of Systematic Botany and Phytogeography, as well as specimens of post graduate students and doctoral candidates Every year they are enriched with at least 1,000 specimens. Among them there are collections from:

  • several mountainous areas and wetlands, mainly from the north part of Greece, i.e. Epirus, Macedonia and Thrace, including many areas of the NATURA 2000 network,
  • urban and rural areas,
  • a particularly rich collection of Lamiaceae plants
